A very special culinary treat awaits you in the cosy Gasthof Stanglwirt. The historic inn in Going has a tradition of hospitality stretching back over 400 years and, in addition to its uniquely homely ambience and outstanding selection of food and wine, it boasts all kinds of other wonderful features that you will never have experienced before.
The creaking steps, ancient rough wooden walls and hundreds of years of tradition behind every panel are just as much a part of the authentic fare at the old Gasthof "Stangl" as the many regional delicacies, prepared under the watchful eye of the Stanglwirt's junior director, Johannes Hauser. The kitchen team led by head chef Thomas Ritzer use all their culinary skills to prepare treats for their guests' palates at the rustic Tyrolean inn at the foot of the Wilder Kaiser – as has been the case every day for over 250 years! Up in the legendary "cowshed room", there's a treat for your eyes to feast on, too.
In keeping with the ambience at the Gasthof Stanglwirt and on the Stangl Alm, we serve a delicious selection of traditional regional dishes here. If your mouth is watering already, you can enjoy the anticipation even more by taking a look at our menu. As the perfect accompaniment to the à la carte menu, we offer not only the refreshing spring water from our own Kaiserquelle source but also a fine selection of Austrian and international quality wines.
